2022-23 Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) Survey

FVSD is pleased to share the 2022-23 LCAP development process is well underway and that input from our District community is very important. If you would like to complete an LCAP Input Survey, it is available online in both English and Vietnamese by clicking on the News Story on our homepage.

Transitional Kindergarten Interest Questionnaire (must be filled out for all TK interested students)

Transitional Kindergarten is a program for children that turn 5 years old September 2, 2017 through February 2, 2018. FVSD District Office has a TK Questionnaire here Please fill out the Questionnaire as soon as possible! Because TK is not held at every Fountain Valley Elementary School just yet, the District Office keeps the list of names of interested families and assigns schools based on several factors (attendance area, siblings already at a school, children of teachers that work at the school, transfer status, and space availability). TK families are then notified if they are accepted, and which school they are assigned to (the first few weeks in May), after which they can enroll at their assigned school. Those TK Students not accepted are placed on a waiting list in case an accepted student's family does not complete the enrollment process. Click link below for TK Interest Questionnaire. This is the first step and MUST be filled out so the District knows that your family is interested in having your child attend Transitional Kindergarten in the 22/23 school year.

Information from our TK/Kindergarten Round Up Meeting that was held Feb. 24th is attached for your information.

Please call us 714-378-4230 or email us [email protected] with any questions.

Link to Peachjar E-flyers

Fountain Valley School District (FVSD) utilizes an electronic flyer (e-flyer) distribution system, Peachjar, in an effort to improve communication, ensure a strong link between home and school, and to enhance community support and involvement in the schools. Every school, the district, and outside organizations will use Peachjar to distribute district-approved e-flyers to families districtwide. These e-flyers reduce staff time, save money, utilize technology, and are more environmentally conscious. In addition, these e-flyers are available for reference on each school’s website even after the email has been deleted.

Field Trips Permission Slips / Events / Volunteering

We are excited that based on current guidance our school can now host field trips for our students. If your child's class will be going on a field trip, you will be notified directly by your child's teacher. We've included a field trip permission slip (generic blank) attached to this message in case you've misplaced the permission slip that was sent home with your child. Not all grades will have a field trip away from school. Some grades may have field trip-like programs held on campus where no travel is required.

If you are a parent, guardian or extended family member and wish to volunteer as a field trip chaperone, the State of California requires all field trip chaperones to be cleared at a Level 2. Please see the attachment that lists the requirements to be a Level 1 or Level 2 cleared volunteer. Level 2 LiveScan Background check forms can be picked up in the office or sent home with your child. Please contact the office to request the form. Keep in mind the Livescan fingerprinting and Department of Justice process can take two weeks or more to complete. Once the Livescan process is complete, it is valid for the entire time your child is enrolled in Fountain Valley School District. Livescans for other entities do not count, as they are confidential and go directly to our HR department once approved.

Sometimes events are held where family members are not required to have clearance, such as promotion activities, plays and other faculty supervised events where the family members present are not working directly with or supervising students, and rather attending a performance event.

If you are unsure, please contact the school office to determine whether volunteer clearance is needed for the specific activity or event being held.

We thank all of our volunteers and families for helping to make Plavan such a wonderfully supportive community to help enrich the lives of our students.
