Dear Plavan families,
 
Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! 
We are extremely excited to welcome our new students and returning students from summer and to continue our partnership with our PTO to provide the best instructional and enjoyable experiences for our students. We come back together under our new collaborative theme for 2024-2025:

Plavan is an award winning school, representing the very best of the Fountain Valley School District as a CA Distinguished School 2023!
 
awardPlavan students consistently perform well above state, county, and our district averages on both the ELA & Math sections of the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP). This past Spring, 85% of our students met or exceeded the state standards in both Reading & Math.
 
Excellent instructional outcome is just one of our goals here at Plavan. We seek to develop the "whole" child through our programs that are dependent on the quality partnership between our staff and you, our parents. We accomplish this by building a partnership based on trust and the common goal of working collaboratively to do what's best for students.  
 
Another continuing partnership that I greatly value is with our amazing PTO.  Through our partnership with our PTO, our students and families experience fun, community events such as Trunk or Treat, Movie Nights, Jog-A-Thon, Multicultural Week, Egg Hunt, Family Sweetheart Dance, Plavan Carnival, 5th Grade Outdoor Science as well as many enriching assemblies and field trips.
