Plavan Elementary School Principal
Fountain Valley, CA, July 18, 2025: The Fountain Valley School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Kyle Ruiz as the new principal of Plavan Elementary School, pending Board approval at the Tuesday, July 22nd special board meeting.
With more than a decade of experience as an educator, teacher coach, Cotsen Mentor, and equity-focused leader in neighboring districts, Mrs. Ruiz earned a reputation for instructional excellence and collaborative leadership.
"I am honored by this opportunity to join the Plavan Elementary School and FVSD communities," shared Mrs. Ruiz, "I look forward to listening and learning from Plavan students, staff, and families about what makes Plavan such a special school and how I can support continued growth and success for all Panthers."
FVSD Superintendent Katherine Stopp shared, “Mrs. Ruiz stood out for her instructional expertise, her commitment to collaboration, and her ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and families. At the heart of her leadership is her passion for supporting all students. We are confident she will be a fantastic addition to the Plavan community.”
Her selection followed a rigorous interview process led by a panel that included classroom teachers, elementary principals, and district leadership.
