Remind 101

As I am sure some of you remember, last year I tested out Remind 101 to help the kids stay on top of upcoming tests and daily homework assignments. I found that it was especially helpful for grades 4 and 5.  Remind 101 allows me to send out daily communications via text message to keep you up to date. It also allows me to post study guides and photos of the daily homework agenda so that there is no excuse to not have homework completed.  To sign up for Remind 101 please follow the directions on the attached page. Please remember if you need clarification on a homework text, please email me and I will get back to you as soon as possible. There is a new feature called "Chat" within Remind 101, you can also send a message through that option.  Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Front Row Math/Reading

I have found an awesome new online Math program that is aligned to the new Common Core Math standards for the kids to use.  Front Row Math allows the kids to log in either on an iPad (through a free app) or online (works in Chrome only) and practice skills they are learning at school. Parents or students can select a topic they would like to practice.  The program will give a baseline assessment test and then place them where they need the most practice. The program self-adjusts based on their performance.  I can monitor their work and send home feedback to parents as often as you would like it. I would like for the kids to log in at least 2-3 times per week to work on their math skills. There are a lot of fun manipulatives and games built in to the program for the kids to use as rewards for working on their math skills.
